The Best Grilled Meatloaf Recipe

Classic meatloaf recipes call for cooking the meat mixture in bread loaf pan, then slicing the loaf to make individual servings. Cooking meatloaf on the grill in individual patties gives this old favorite an interesting new taste.

Ingredients:
1 lb lean ground beef
3/4 cup bread crumbs
1/4 cup cooked and mashed brown rice
1/4 cup tomato paste
1/4 cup finely choppled red onion
1 roma tomato finely chopped
2 tbsp fresh parsely minced
2 tbsp red wine vinegar
3 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp dijon mustard
2 tbsp molasses
1 large egg
salt and pepper to taste

In a large mixing bowl, combine the bread crumbs, rice, tomato paste, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, molasses, and egg. When the ingredients are thoroughly blended, add the remaining meatloaf ingredients.

Form the meatloaf mixture into patties and cook directly on the grill. Alternatively, you can cook the meatloaf patties on a pan over the grill until they become more solid, then transfer them directly to the grill. Cook for about 45 minutes.

You can brush the meatloaf with ketchup or barbecue sauce while they are grilling, or use your own special meatloaf sauce recipe. Grilled meatloaf is best served with home fries, garlic mashed potatoes, green beans, green bean casserole, or steamed vegetables.
