Turn a Cheesecake Recipe into a Pumpkin Cheesecake Recipe

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie Alternative

Pumpkin cheesecake is a popular alternative to pumpkin pie on Thanksgiving. While there are hundreds of pumpkin cheesecake recipes available online, you might be hesitant to try an untested recipe on Thankgiving. However, if you already know a regular cheesecake recipe that you love, you can easily convert it to a pumpkin cheesecake recipe with a few simple changes.

Ingredients:

Use a cheesecake recipe that calls for the cheesecake to be baked in a springform pan. Prepare the crust as directed by the recipe and grease the sides of the pan as required.

Prepare the filling as directed, except replace 12 oz cream cheese with one can of pumpkin. If the canned pumpkin contains sugar, slightly decrease the amount of sugar in the cheesecake recipe. Add the spices and blend well. And now you have pumpkin cheesecake batter.

Pour the batter into the prepared springform pan and bake as directed. Use the minimum suggested baking time that the cheesecake recipe calls for, but keep the temperature the same. Check if the pie is done by inserting a wooden toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, the cheesecake is done. Otherwise, you can bake if for a few more minutes.
