How to Make Beef Dog Biscuits
Dogs are carnivores by nature, and beef is one of a dog's favorite foods. You can make homemade dog treats with real ground beef and whole grains for a protein-rich snack. The shredded carrot in this recipe adds extra nutrients to your dog's diet. You can omit it, or replace it with half a cup of cooked white or brown rice.
Ingredients: 1/2 pound extremely lean ground beef, 1 finely shredded carrot, 2 cups whole wheat flour, 3 tablespoons oil.
Combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl and blend well with a either wooden spoon or your fingers. When the flour is completely incorporated into the ground beef, roll the dog biscuit mixture onto a floured surface, about half an inch thick. You can either roll the dog treats by hand, or use bone-shaped cookie cutters to form the biscuits
Bake the dog treats for 30-35 minutes at 350°F. Store the beef biscuits in the frigde or freezer.
When making this recipe, do not add any salt, since a dog's nutritional needs are different from a human's. These biscuits are safe for human consumption, though they will taste incredibly bland to a human. Dogs, however, will love them!
